The Clinical Effects of Gaspylor^(®) in Infants and Children with Anorexia and Various Indigestion

|
A double-blind trial was performed to study the effect of Gaspylor®, a lyophilized extract of lamb gastric mucosa, in improving the acute gastroenteritis induced anorexia and indigestion. Of the 57 patients aged one to 36 months with acute gastroenteritis, 28 patients, randomly assigned to group A, were given a Gaspylor® (lactose-free formula and Gaspylor®) four hours after hospitalization and 29 patients, randomly assigned to group B, recevied a lactose-free formula only. Diarrhea, vomitus, and oral intake were measured until all symptoms and signs were improved. Overall, group A patients showed less mean - duration of diarrhea (3.2±1.2 (SD) days) than group patients (4.2±1.5 (SD) daysX0.01
